Dog Boarding Rules
DOG CARE BOARDING RULES
Dogs who are boarding must be friendly and tolerant of other dogs of all kinds. I welcome all different breeds, sizes, and ages, as well as puppies, and disabled or elderly dogs. Please note there is a $10 upcharge for puppies and special needs dogs on overnight boarding only.
For all pet care services, Pet Care Enrollment Forms must be signed, and completed by pet parents. Any information about your fur baby(s), especially any medical conditions, or illnesses should be notated, which will ensure a safe and successful stay. All copies of vaccination records are also required.
First-time clients must schedule a Meet and Greet for all new pets. This is a chance for us to all meet and for you and your pup(s) to check out the digs. This is also a chance to see if this is a good fit and if your pup responds positively to the environment. Please note that all dogs are treated fairly and are not judged by their breed. Please allow a maximum of 30 minutes.
Boarding requests for more than 48 hrs. must be made with a deposit. Because there is a limited number of dogs boarding at any one time, I may have to turn away dogs, if it exceeds capacity. Therefore, cancellations less than 1 week will forfeit the deposit. Paid days can be used as credit for future boarding except for holidays.
Pet parents must provide food and are encouraged to bring treats, or toys like Kong, safe dog bones etc., especially for longer stays. In the event there is not enough food, meals (Blue Buffalo chicken recipe kibble) are provided at $4.00 per meal. I do provide high-quality treats complimentary, usually purchased from Costco including milk bones, chicken fillet pieces, beef jerky, and duck jerky. No rawhide allowed, however, rawhide alternatives like Bully slices are great to prevent destructive chewing. Please feel free to provide treats, chews, etc.
For dog walks, a good quality harness and a traffic-handle leash for maximum control is needed, especially for bigger breeds, those who are overly excited during walks, or dogs with a high prey drive. If a dog has a high prey drive, a prong collar may be needed, however, the dog must be trained on a prong collar. Short and frequent walks will be taken to determine if walks can be performed safely.
7Bedding and blankets are provided. Please bring your bedding for your pup at your own risk. Lucia’s Pet Care is not responsible for damaged beds, blankets, toys, or other objects that can be chewed. If your pup is known for destructive chewing, a pet cot is provided instead, or please bring your own beds.
Pet parents are responsible if their pet damages pet care property items that are not meant to be chewed or destroyed like furniture and fixtures. If I see your pet is chewing or destroying inappropriate objects, I will replace them with a chew toy and deter the behavior. I will also let the parents know to get help on preventing destructive chewing.
All payments are due in full, at the time of service via PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or Cash. Due to limited space, for early/unscheduled pickups, payment for the duration of stay is forfeited. If more days are needed and available, there is no extra charge. Forfeit days can be credited towards future boarding. Weekdays, Weekends, and Holiday prices all vary- please refer to the Dog Pricing Menu.
